The Smartcompany (Pty) Ltd was established in 2015 and has become a leader in the non-ferrous smelting – our main focus is copper alloys.

The experience and expertise in the Foundry Industry was passed down from generations has allowed us to grow to where we are today. We commit ourselves to quality, cost-effective services and pride ourselves in our service delivery and turn-around time.

We process copper scrap ranging from Millberry, Berry, Candy and Birch which we process into client specific cast iron moulds.

Our clients are major scrap dealers from Gauteng and as far as Durban. We do not deal with any fly by night scrap yards and adhere to the strict guidelines issued by the Metal Recycling Association.

We have strict security at the Foundry, state of the art cameras systems to monitor the perimeter and production.

The Smartcompany operates 24 hours a day / 7 day to maximize production.

Our experienced foundry men and staff are dedicated in delivering on time, each shift has a floor supervisor and well as experienced forklift drivers to ensure production is managed efficiently.

Tight control systems are implemented to monitor the scrap in and the copper Ingots going out, we supply our clients with Foundry orders and strive to limit their melt losses on their material.

Each Batch is accompanied with an Assay report which is obtained from a corner sample and tested on a Spectro Max machine. The samples are marked per batch and are kept for a period of 12 months for any future enquiries.

Ingots = 660 x 240 x 100 – Ave weight 100kg
Blisters = 800 x 600 x 140 – Ave weight 500kg

The Foundry consists of 4 x Rotary copper furnaces and has the capacity to do 15 – 20 tons per day and on average 350- 400 tons per month.

Our In-house maintenance team ensure that our production schedules are met and deal with any repairs promptly.

2 x scales are calibrated on a regular basis to ensure accurate reporting.

As per client’s request, we do offer on-site packing of containers for export. Packing photo’s, Container details and lock details are all supplied to the freight forwarder for export.
